AERO-UA – Strategic and targeted support for cooperation between Europe and Ukraine in the field of aviation research

The participants of the event has gathered before the monument to Alexander Ivchenko in front of the building of the design and research center, Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine.

In the period from 24 to 25 April 2019 in Zaporizhzhya was held an international information and contact event, implemented within the framework of the project AERO-UA and funded by the European Commission. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of opportunities for Ukrainian aerospace companies and organizations to participate in European science and technology projects within the framework of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, including Clean Sky 2, as well as to establish contacts with European partners for joint participation in future projects. On the first day, a technical tour was organized for all participants to get acquainted with the products and services of SE Ivchenko-Progress and JSC Motor Sich.

On the second day, a scientific and technical conference was held in the conference hall of the Intourist Hotel, where the participants had the opportunity to make a presentation on the activities of their organizations and companies, as well as to receive information about the possibility and rules of participation in European scientific and technical projects. The main organizer of the event was Ivchenko-Progress.

Professionals from France, Germany, Poland, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Turkey took part in the conference as well as delegates from leading aeronautical institutes, universities, and enterprises in Ukraine. The discussion on pressing issues contributed to further expanded cooperation amongst partners, to expanding the influence of SE Ivchenko-Progress as a leading research and production organization for the development and design of up-to-date aeronautical equipment in Ukraine.

Members of the Coordinating Council of the international European project AERO-UA and event participants expressed their appreciation for an effective, coordinated organization of the event, thanked for the opportunity to learn about activities of SE Ivchenko-Progress and JSC Motor Sich, and see attractions of the city.
