Blade fabrication technique from ring forgings

Mastering the technique of making blades from ring forgings reduced significantly equipment design and manufacturing costs compared to blades from single blanks.
Blade roots were formed on the Weiler E150 turn-mill center in a ring which was then erosion-cutted into separated blade blanks and machined on the Starrag milling machine.
The process of making grooves on discs of the intermediate barrel on the Weiler E150 CNC turn-mill center has been developed, necessary Sandvik cutting tools selected and purchased.
